Live in the NOW!

This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!
Contrary to WOF doctrine, God does not promise us a tomorrow. Yesterday will never return, tomorrow may never come but we are here today. I think God wants us to live each day as if it were our last one on earth. If you knew that today was your last day, how would it affect your outlook? What problems would you be worrying about? How would you be praying?
Most of the things that we tend to worry about are in the future which is really an unknown to us. Jesus said: “For we know not what the morrow will bring”. Jesus also said the He will show you things to come, but he did not say that he would show us everything to come.
We spend so much time worrying about the future. Gas prices, the upcoming election, next months house payment and car payment, the kids college education, the failing economy, terror alerts, marriage problems, and on and on the list goes. But what if today was your last day? How much would these concerns mean to you? All that would matter to you is that you were right with God and that your loved ones knew that you loved them and forgave them. Nothing else would matter. We should cast all of these cares and concerns onto Jesus where they belong. He knows the future and we do not. The important thing is to love God and love those around us. Everything else God will work out for our good always.
Live today as if it were your last. Be grateful and enjoy every moment. Don’t take yourself or others seriously. Don’t worry about tomorrow, for it may never come. Enjoy today. Live in the NOW!
